Recessed acrylic player dashboards lock wooden cubes securely.
A single bumped table can ruin an entire evening’s strategy. Our recessed player dashboards hold cubes, resource pegs, and modifier tokens inside 2mm deep routed wells so your game state survives elbows, dice rolls, and curious pets.
Engineered for unstable game states
Standard player mats made from thin cardstock sit flat on the table cloth. When players roll heavy metal dice or reach across the board for snacks, wooden cubes slide across tracks and wipe out resource tallies. That failure mode happens in every long Euro game session.
Dual-layer construction resolves that displacement entirely. The lower tier is a rigid 1.5mm acrylic foundation plate that provides structural backing. The top face is a laser-milled 2mm smoked or clear cast acrylic plate with square and round through-pockets sized exactly for 8mm wooden cubes, 10mm resource discs, and standard acrylic peg markers.
Every track pocket features a 0.25mm taper along its interior walls. This lets fingers lift cubes out easily while keeping them locked against lateral bumps up to 35 degrees of table tilt.
Materials, joinery, and chemical bonding
Many aftermarket overlays use weak perimeter clips that snap when packed into a crowded game box. Others rely on water-based glues that fog acrylic or separate after two seasons of temperature changes in a cold Portland basement.
Capillary acrylic solvent bonding along all interior grid lines joins the layers permanently. The two acrylic layers melt together at the molecular level, creating a single monolithic piece that cannot delaminate under mechanical stress. The edges are flame-polished to remove laser burrs and prevent snags on neoprene playmats.
For games requiring wooden aesthetics, we offer an optional Baltic birch core bonded between acrylic sheets, providing natural grain texture beneath precision-recessed resource slots.
What we do and what we refuse to do
Custom layouts are cut for specific campaign titles, economic engine games, and modular resource engines. Bring your player card to our counter at 1500 Southwest 1st Avenue in Portland, or send dimensional scans through our inquiry desk.
Thin 0.5mm clear vinyl slipcovers are entirely excluded from our production runs. They curl at the corners within two weeks, reflect harsh ceiling lighting, and trap dust between the plastic and your game mat. If an overlay flexes when picked up by the corner, we will not produce it.
Our dashboards are built exclusively from cast acrylic and furniture-grade birch plywood. They survive decades of regular play, travel inside tournament bags, and wash clean with a damp microfiber cloth.
Every dashboard pack is cut to match specific component profiles. Pricing depends on accessory type, brand, card count, part count, set format, organizer tray contents, and licensing rarity.
Checking Your Board Dimensions?
Measure your base game player mat with a digital caliper or metric ruler. If your mat differs from standard A5 (210×148mm), our Portland counter can cut custom layout files within 48 hours.

Ordering and inquiry workflow
Portland Counter ProtocolStep 1: Board layout and cube verification
Tell us the board game title or specify the exact dimensions of your player mats. If using custom wooden cubes or metal markers, note their millimeter size so we set pocket offsets correctly. Standard Euro cubes measure 8mm, but Chinese-manufactured tokens often run between 7.7mm and 8.3mm.
Our Portland desk checks your game against our library of 37 accessory profiles to ensure zero cube jamming.
Step 2: Material selection and counter dispatch
Choose between clear gloss acrylic, anti-glare smoked matte acrylic, or layered Baltic birch backing. We provide a complete price estimate between 19.99 and 34.99 USD per 4-board pack before running your plates.
Orders ship packed in unbleached kraft boxes from our 1500 Southwest 1st Avenue counter between 2:00 PM and 10:00 PM PST daily, or can be collected directly at our test desk.
